Marie Walter-Franke is an Affiliate Policy Fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute Berlin, working on EU migration and asylum policy. She writes her PhD at the Free University of Berlin within the graduate school ‘Human Rights under Pressure – Ethics, Law and Politics’. The programme is a cooperation with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where she was a visiting research fellow in 2016. She holds an M.A. in European studies from Sciences Po Paris and an M.Sc. in Politics and Government in the EU from the London School of Economics.
Before returning to academia, Marie was project manager at the Berlin-based publisher Lexxion, where she oversaw several EU law journals. Previously, she worked for the European Commission, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP). Marie comes from France and is the proud mother of an Erasmus baby.
