Valentin Kreilinger is a Policy Fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute Berlin. He has written and commented on issues such as Differentiated integration, the European Parliament, National parliaments in the EU and reforming the Economic and Monetary Union. He holds an MSc in Politics and Government in the European Union from the London School of Economics. Prior to that, he studied at Université Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He wrote his doctoral thesis at the Hertie School of Governance from 2014 to 2018.
His current research explores legitimacy in the Economic and Monetary Union and how parliaments have reacted to the increasing coordination of fiscal and economic policies at the European level. Valentin has worked at Notre Europe – Institut Jacques Delors, the German Historical Institute in Paris and at the Center for Applied Policy Research in Munich. Valentin has received scholarships of the Max Weber Programm Bayern and the Hertie Foundation, is an Alumnus of the Allianz Cultural Foundation and was a Member of “FutureLab Europe” from 2015 to 2018.
