The proposal to establish a “Parliament of the Eurozone” has re-emerged in the debate on deepening the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). In this context, Valentin Kreilinger and Morgan Larhant look beyond the institutional innovation at what might be the interest and scope of such a proposal. They analyse whether a “Eurozone Parliament” could be useful or even essential for a better functioning of the Eurozone and they develop three options for an inter-parliamentary strengthening of the Eurozone in a thought experiment.
